Looks good for use in its intended range, 300 MHz and up, and for portable, low battery voltage use. Its use below this range will be limited by the integral transformers (noted in the datasheet) which also explains the loss in gain shown on the charts.

Over the years, I've been able to fudge a bit on the freq specs of various DC-coupled ICs, but when you have either internal capacitors or ferrites you probably can't get away with it.

Indeed depend on the frequency range of  the transformers.
I used the LT5517 I&Q demodulator chip in the  KTH-SDR kits some time ago.
Can be used as a single IF mixer as well
Out end below of the 40 MHz spec's could be used down to 7 MHz and depending on the production batch we have use them down to 3.5 MHz if you have them from an goed production batch.

LINEAR have a nice range of Mixer to for HF up to UHF use. I like them.
