Does anyone have a schematic for a HF linear amp of 5-10W output for 160-10M?

I like the looks of the Pennywhistle ... slightly more power than you need, but ...

I think they make a kit, but if you build carefully you might be able to copy their design.

G6LBQ produced a multiband linear a few years ago.

Hello Mark,

I have build this one:

http://www.box73.de/product_info.php?products_id=1899

Look at the .pdf file unser "Zusatzinformationen".
There you will find the circuit diagram.

I measured a gain of 32 dB and the -3dB bandwidth is 700 kHz - 150 MHz.

Look in the files section of the forum.  under my call is a two part article about "HF_use_Fet_...).
That is the WA2EBY amp, At 24 to 28V more power than you ask for but at 12-13V comfortably
above your request.  The board is available from FARcircuits.  Uses two IRF510s and they are
still quite available.

Note you did not say how much drive power you have so I assume at least a watt or close to that.
Gain is about 15db, if that's too much an input attenuator is reasonable to do.  If that is not enough
then you need a driver and more.

Hello,
I have recently done some measurements
9762 2014-02-16 10:40:56 Sandeep Lohia Re: RD16HHF1 FET amp
infact any of PCB designed for IRF510 with equally work with RD16 or
15 (not SMD PCB)
just cut a track with hobby knife, install a jumper ( I mean swap
drain with source)

& we have RD16HHF working well on PCB designed for IRF510 which is
very common with HF home brewers.

I did the same with HMY2K8 multibander push-pull linear (a gift from
Dr, Rajsekhar)

& I'll be using that Class AB linear with my next project :

incase if my tube 6146 project fails to find other vintage components...

for 5~8W output only 1 X RD16HHF1 in Class A will do eg :
http://www.phonestack.com/farhan/linear2.gif

if in push-pull class AB it will close to 18 Watt of RF approx...

Mark U can also parallel 2 X RD16 or RD15, google AVALA SDR see it's
systematic.

but parallel 2 X IRF 510 is not suitable for 10M for increased gate capacitance.

however U can use what ever PCB U already have for IRF510 (just swap
gate with source) & take care of out put Z with auto-transformer,
might be triflar, depends on output power...

There is construction information for the wa2eby amplifier at http://golddredgervideo.com/kc0wox/wa2ebyamp/index.htm
All the info on parts is listed along with a step-by-step manual.

Check out W6JL's 50 watt amp that costs $28.36. It won QST's Homebrew Challange and is in the June 2010 QST. Input attenuation can throttle it down to the output level you need. Mine is set to provide 20 w drive to my HB 600 watt FET amp and at that level I do not need the high current heatsink fan; just using a small regular finned heatsink.

Hi,

I had bookmarked the following and I am planning to build it in the next couple of weeks

https://sites.google.com/site/lofturj/softrock6_3#TOC-Project:---HF-Power-amplifier-20W-using-2x-RD16HHF1-Mosfet.

I am not sure how good it performs, but seems promising and I will try it.
