While looking for a source for the MC145170, I found that Lansdale
is manufacturing many of them. But, they have a $1000 minimum. I got
the following response from them:
Hi David,
Sorry for the delayed response to your question. First off, we
recognize there is a customer base requesting smaller quantities than. At
Lansdale, we have a minimum requirement of $1,000 per order. For this
particular device, that equates to 435 units.
To help facilitate the smaller quantities, we have been trying to
engage with Digi-key but they are more focused on the newer
technologies. A
lot of our products have been in the industry for a long time, even though
we still encourage the development of newer applications. I am trying to
get Mouser and Newark to include our products in their catalog.
For the interim, what volume do you require? We can support this
part number, but again the minimum order would be 435 pieces. The best I
can do outside of a purchase order is to supply you with 5 free
samples. In
order to do so, we require the following information for export control:

Customer Name:
End country:
Application:

Attached is a list of all the products we currently support that
have been transferred from Motorola/Freescale. We also have a data
book, or
CD that contains all the data sheet information if you have an interest in
these parts. I would be happy to send them if you're interested. Please
let me know how you'd like to proceed.

Therefore, I think we should all tell Mouser and DigiKey we want to
buy some. If they see enough interest, maybe they will start carrying
Lansdale IC's.
