Bob Pease died over the weekend in a one-car accident. It was mentioned on another list that he was returning from a memorial for Jim Williams. He was driving his 1969 VW, which he had used in a number of his videos:

Bob Pease and Jim Williams gone in one week. Its like ending an era.
I have met Bob Pease in one of his visits to Israel and joked about driving an old Beetle (I was driving a Beetle too at the time), and now he was killed in that Beetle.
A week ago I even had sent him a Linkedin invitation.

Wow, this is horrible. Two of my electronics heroes gone within a matter of a few days. I was just remarking to my wife that the wisdom and teaching of those two men appears in nearly every design that I have done.

Oddest thing: I read the San Jose Mercury News every morning, and today I saw the story about the 70 year old man who died in a vintage VW. Right away, I thought of Bob... And by golly it was him. Incidentally, no seatbelt. Wonder if that might have saved him.

RIP, my old friends.

That is very sad news. I didn't even know that Jim Williams also had passed
away. I own Bob's book about troubleshooting analog circuits and my copy is
signed by Bob himself.

I met Bob in the seminars that he was giving frequently. They were always a treasure !
Lately , we had extensive correspondence relating to sudden acceleration in cars of a famous foreign manufacturer. He always tried to help .  His depth of knowledge on different fields was amazing. He will be remmbered!........... John, retired electronics engineer

I do remember Bob Pease’s “Pease Porridge” column in the "Electronic Design Magazine. Brings back fond memories of those times. This is a terrible loss for the electronics world.

And irony - he wrote a book on safe driving techniques, "How to Drive
into Accidents - And How Not to "
