I was stunned when I read that. Made me think back to some of the
semiconductor power houses that have become history:

Motorola
Burr-Brown
ComLinear
Elantec
Precision Monolithics
PhilBrick

I can understand the smaller ones being bought out and assimilated.

Motorola died by way of managerial incompetence.

But NATIONAL SEMICONDUCTOR ?!?!?!?!?!?

Must be their punishment for laying off Bob Pease.
