Hi,

I am going to make myself a programmable frequency generator based on the Si570 chip and an Aruduino microcontroller board. I am interested in
finding a programmable rf attenuator preferably using the I2C protocol to make this a more functional unit...any recommendations?

Minicircuits has some that are programmable with CMOS binary bits. I2C
expander chips will convert I2C to parallel bits.

Maybe you should have a look at www.hittite.com. Not sure if they use I2C, but they have big selection.
