An online resource is preferred.

It seems to only refer to NTE devices. I was hoping for an engine or document that does something like 2N3904 <> BC547 or some such (maybe a bad example but off the top of my head). If I enter an NTE part number to see what else comes up (reverse search if you will) the engine provides no answer.

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Transistor#Part_numbers
where there is a cursory overview of the (transistor) part number nomenclature for JEDEC/EECA/JIS devices. IMO this will help a bit with the site you reference.
I wish the distributors (Mouser, Digi-Key, Farnell/Newark, etc.) would add a search option for JEDEC/EECA/JIS cross. Perhaps hard to do, perhaps not. I envisi4726 2010-05-29 07:06:15 ajparent1 Re: JEDEC/EECA/JIS Cross Reference Funny I use it for that. I'll look up the odd part, find it's NTE
look at the specs for that then look up another part I think will match that and usually find it also crosses to that same NTE part.
Or once you find the NTE part you can run down the page in the 2n, 2S, BC prefixes until you find a part number with the same NTE
reference and matches your part available. Seems long way to go but I've used that trick going4727 2010-05-29 07:13:26 ajparent1 Re: JEDEC/EECA/JIS Cross Reference also check out the:

As it explains cross references and also down near the bottom there is a forward and reverse reference table.
