I noticed this morning that there are a number of offerings of full tubes of the CA3046 available with free shipping, and the seller that I thought I had cleaned out of the CA3146 is selling them yet again at 4/$1.00:

That's quite a bargain, and it's a good part for making a 1W or more amplifier as these parts are rated at 40V Vceo vs. the 15V for the CA3046, which means that you can push the device power limit without reaching the collector current limit.

I sent him some emails this morning to see if it's the same person I
have bought from in hamfest, if he is I will give him the list of
useful parts and see what he can dig up.
