I am planning to build an 80M CW transceiver of European design, but am
having trouble with finding some of the NPN transistors. If you have
any tips on either substitutes or sources, I would be grateful.

SC239 - used in a 3 stage audio amp
SF127 - used in a VFO oscillator
BFW 16A - used as a driver in the transmitter section
2SC2314 - used a transmitter final

"This business of hozho. The way I understand it . . ." He paused. The way he understood hozho was hard to put into words. "I'll use an example. Terrible drought, crops dead, sheep dying. Spring dried out. No water. The Hopi, or the Christian, maybe the Moslem, they pray for rain. The Navajo has the proper ceremony done to restore himself to harmony with the drought. You see what I mean? The system is designed to recognize what's beyond human power to change, and then to change the humans attitude to be content with the inevitable."

Hello Stephen, SC239 can be replaced by almost any small low-noise AF npn (preferably 2N4400/1, 2N4123/4, even 2N3904); SF127 = old BF177, now e.g. 2N2218/9; BFW16 is like 2N3866; 2SC2314 is like BF869 or BFQ232. Exact replacements for the first three old npn's are not found, but modern bjt's are better. 2SC2314 can be bought in Europe if needed.

Kindly, OH2NFI, EePee.

Hello Stephen,

The BW16A can also be replaced by a 2N5109.
