Does anyone know of a simple tutorial(preferably free) for matching
RF amps starting with the S11 and S22 parameters. I remember we spent
a very small amount of time on it in collage about 37 years ago, but
haven't used it since.
I am trying to design a very wideband (1.8 to 450 MHz) RF amp. I
have reverse engineered some of the FT-817 circuit. They use a pair
of RD07 MOSFETS. I looked at the Polyfets and they have a couple of
good app notes. But, the quote I got from their rep for a 2W FET was
$52.88 ea! The RD07 is available from RFParts for $6.75.

David:
Give us a little bit more information.
What power level?
How linear?
How much gain?
What voltage for the rails?

I would like a minimum of 1W, preferebly 5W. This would be multimode including CW,
SSB, FM. I will have up to 100mW driving available. I would like to run on 12V, but could run
on 24(I have 12 to 24 volt converter boards).
