Message Date From Subject 15453 2019-09-09 10:29:57 Dana Myers Class E amplifiers - interesting bit of history (a little OT) I admit I'd never read the IEEE paper introducing Class E amplifier

It's very good reading and surely relevant to EMRFD. Reading the
author biographies at the end, it was heart-warming to see they
are apparently father-son (and ARRL members), and perhaps almost
a stereotypical example of the 1970s generation gap when looking
at their photos.
Something seemed familiar about the authors; so I looked it up
and discovered I had heard of the younger Sokal before:

It appears that Alan Sokal's call was WA1HQB and expired in 2006.

All performed close enough to expectations. The NM0S 40 meter rig got me interested in these amps.
