Hi Guys:

For those of us using auto/marine batts for radio use I have a useful tidbit.

One of my projects (now in its 5th year and about complete) regenerates 6 & 12V lead acid batteries up to 250Ah. An Angel investor group interested in buying equity handed me a pair of fairly new ACDELCO Voyager ACDM27C 12V batteries drained flat on a member's marine launch.

Flat as in 1.7V each! After several hours on a commercial Schumacher 12Amp smart charger they hovered at 2V...so poor result.

After an automated 24 hour regeneration (on my 10" cube system)  they recovered to 65% OEM CCA and 50% rated Ah.

So abusing starter batts down to literally 0% charge effectively ages them by about 50% or 9 months of regular use. They are not recoverable by normal means and would not be a valid warranty replacement due to the abuse.

Correction, the regen delivered 95% OEM CCA and 50% OEM AH.

That is quite an improvement. Is it possible that
it may further improve with several discharge/charge
cycles?

Is your rejuvenation system some sort of Desulfator?

Please excuse my ignorance, but what is a 10" cube system?
