don't think I will go to that extreme to lower the base line a further 10
db to the noise floor as I can't say I really needed that low a base line in
any of my measurements so far. It is a great instrument though.

Yes, it is a great instrument. And, look at the price!!!! Just the education and fun you received while building the SA has no price!!! I am currently thinking about dropping a PLL into it for some more critical measurements. Not sure where I am going yet but, the SA as designed is a great base to start from.
