I was on the Elecraft site and noticed that they had all the schematics to the K5 tranceiver available on a pdf......These guys did their homework....They even made the first mixer assembly a plug in....it's interesing that this high dynamic front end uses a $0.64 chip as a switching mixer...life is good.

But now you mention it, there are some subtleties in that mixer design
that make a dramatic contribution to its performance.

This is the right crowd to look at it, mull over it, and figure out what
these are and, far more importantly, why they are there. What are the
operational benefits?

Then decide if adding them to your next receiver front end project is
worthwhile.
