Greetings to the group:

Just so you won't feel like the only one, I was greeted this evening with a photo on the EMRFD page of a bunch of yarn and needlepoint thread.  Why not a pile of components from the junk box, perhaps some air-variable capacitors?

In looking around, I'm realizing this "new look of Yahoo! groups" seems to be effecting everyone.

Please bear with us (please bear with Yahoo!), we'll see if this is temporary or not.  If it is permanent, we'll find a new back-drop to apply, or we'll have to finally incorporate some needlepoint into the ham shack.

With regard to Yahoo!'s changes, I found a page where they are asking for
suggestions. You can click on a button on the right side of the page and it
will take you to a suggestion form. I just entered a suggestion that they
add the ability to search the files and photos sections. Right now, of
course, only discussions can be searched. Ideally, the searches ought to be
unified. The hits you get back would including matching items wherever they
might be on the group site. Here's the page:

A while back Hack-A-Day ran an April 1 story saying that they were switching from electronics to knitting.   I pledged to knit up an HT-37.

Can I apply for the ugliest homebrew? I have several candidates from
my junked rigs.

That would be a neat idea - but the plethora of our competing PCBs
would probably paralyse servers globally...

BTW : mine would be in the top ten :-)

How about a bunch of toroids wound with different-colors of enamel wire? I think I have such a picture that I'd be happy to donate. 73 Kevin W7LOZ

I'll just throw this out there: Google Groups. Simple and clean interface. Photos can be included within a post, not just as attachments. You can also access 20+ year archive of the old text-only"Usenet" groups.

I'm not a fan.  Then again I still use command line level stuff in linux. The general feel is more and worse advertizing.  and it s hard to find stuff liek the files and photos area. Allis

As of 10/1/2013, I sometimes can't get beyond the EMRFD group home page with Firefox.  I click on a "Conversation" and a "loading" comes up and that's as far as it goes.
We need a higher priority for "Files" and a lower priority for "Polls."
All my groups appear in the left column, which is nice.
Where is the "Preview" before submitting.

I can adjust to the new format.  That is more than I can say for the Ribbons in Excel 2010.

Quite a few recent postings are all partially almost indecipherable in text.
See below.

It would appear the NEO format is attempting to confuse even the NSA...

I assume this happens when posting via the "brave NEO world" format.

Hopefully, someone will figure out how to post either via NEO and/or via
old-style email so that all can be readily read by all :-)

You can post via old style email and it should go through OK as long
as your email isn't doing "rich text" or HTML. None of those
and " and ' tags everywhere in the end result. (Those three
are there only because I typed them there.)
