Before I go re-inventing the wheel, has anyone measured the noise performance of VXOs, or even better dual-crystal Super VXOs? I'm looking for a frequency swing of over 25KHz at 25MHz for use as an LO in a "reasonable" receiver, say 100dB IMD dynamic range on SSB. I guess I need at least -140dBc/Hz noise floor to avoid compromising the DR, or another 6dB if I decide to frequency double the VXO for more tuning range. Will a Super VXO cut it?
