Gentlemen,

I believe there a sufficient number of groups already. There are groups for various radios and interests.

FT-817, Icom rigs, etc.
There is QRP-I, Pixie2, Rock-Mite, etc.

Categorizing only splitters the community and creates cliques and other groupings that promote disunity. You know one of the problems we have as Americans is that everyone is trying to divide us so we can be more easily conquered. The same will happen to amateur radio and seems to be happening. We need protect each other in our diversity by recognizing that every group has value and that we need to unite to protect very one's interests.

If you want to see disunity in its' purest form, you only need to look
at the one-sided flame wars and personal attacks that take place on the two
QRP-L lists. The problems you're anticipating in the division of Amateur
Radio are already here, and there are a direct result of the very nature of
American society as it has existed since de Toqueville observed it in the
18th century.

Divided I stand, united I'm conquered.

Chris
