Tim,

Look at the internal circuitry in the DBM devices. The ring diode type mixers will gain no advantage with differential drive. Only the active type mixers represented by the SA-602 type mixers can achieve improved performance with this type of drive.

i think that's true only if you have relatively high supply voltages.
if you have a 3.3v system and take into consideration diode drops,
vcesat, etc you might want to have a differential drive to ensure
sufficient forward voltage and drive current across the two diode
drops.
