It just got a tracking generator for my old HP 141T and I am amazed at how it is helping me with filter design and construction. A first try at a 50 mhz triple tuned filter on double sided board in a Hammond box - a disaster - horrible stopband with a peak 10 db down at 62 Mhz and the same type peaks below 50 mhz. I built a double sided box around the exact same filter and put BNC connectors on both ends. Even without a cover - absolutely beautiful filter just as designed.
